Pricing: How we work, and what it costs

No packages to decode. One rate, a written estimate, and you know the most it can cost before we start.

How a project goes

  1. Tell us what's going on

Fill in the form, or call or text 516-448-6221. Every request is read by a person, and you hear back, usually the same or next business day.

  2. First consultation

Tell us on the form if a phone or video call is enough to start. We'll look at what you sent and tell you before we talk whether there's any charge. An on-site consultation is billed by the hour. If we go ahead, that time comes off the job.

  3. A closer look, if you need one

If we need a closer look at how the business runs, that's billed by the hour too, like everything else.

  4. A written estimate with a cap

Before any project, you get a written estimate with a not-to-exceed cap. You pay for the hours we actually work, never more than the cap. If the job changes, we write a new estimate before doing more.

  5. We build it, test it and hand it over

Built and tested on your own accounts. If it's running long, we call you before we reach the cap. Every invoice shows the hours logged.

  6. You keep control

Accounts in your name, your data, and written notes on how it all works.

What it costs

$175 an hour

One rate for all of it. No packages to decode.

  • Before any project, you get a written estimate with a not-to-exceed cap. You pay for the hours we actually work, never more than the cap.
  • If the job changes, we write a new estimate before doing more.
  • On-site travel: the first 30 minutes each way are on us, then $40 per half hour.
  • No long-term contract or retainer. You sign each written estimate before we start.

How all of it works

Nothing goes out without you

Replies, estimates, review responses and follow-ups are drafted for a person to check, and you approve them before they go out. Standard replies, like the questions you ask every new customer, you approve once, and then they're sent for you.

  1. Drafted for you
  2. Checked by you
  3. Then sent

The kinds of work

Every project is some mix of these. You don't need to know which; we'll sort that out.

Questions

What if it takes longer than the estimate?

You never pay more than the cap. If we see it running long, we call you before we keep going.

What does the first conversation cost?

Tell us on the form if a phone or video call is enough to start. We'll look at what you sent and tell you before we talk whether there's any charge. An on-site consultation is billed by the hour. If we go ahead, that time comes off the job.

Do I need to know what kind of work I need?

No. Tell us what's eating your time; we'll sort out what it takes.

Who owns what you build?

Your accounts and your data are yours. Anything we write only for you is yours too. Tools we bring from our own businesses stay ours; your estimate spells out how you can keep using them. You get written notes either way.

Do you replace my software?

No. If your program works, we connect to it. If something you pay for isn't earning its keep, we'll tell you.

Will artificial intelligence (AI) talk to my customers?

Only the way you set it up. Drafts are checked by a person before they go out, and standard replies, like the first questions you ask every new customer, you approve once and then they're sent for you.

Where do you work?

On site in Nassau and Suffolk. A lot of the work can be done by phone and video.

What's the difference between Promora and Home Tech Help?

Home Tech Help fixes things that are broken. Promora designs, builds and automates new things. Same founder, different work.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contract or retainer. You sign each written estimate before we start.

Something broken instead? A computer, the Wi-Fi, a printer, email that stopped working: that's our sister business. Promora is for designing, building and automating. Go to Long Island Home Tech Help →

Tell us what's going on.

A few lines about your business and what's eating your time is enough to start. Every request is read by a person, and if something isn't worth doing, we'll tell you.
