Quotes, estimates and parts: Estimates out the door without the late nights

Parts priced from your suppliers, the estimate and scope of work generated from the job, and parts paid for before you order them.

or call or text 516-448-6221

The chore
Looking up parts, checking supplier prices, working out the markup and typing the estimate.
What it does
Prices parts for your customer the same way every time and builds a branded estimate and scope of work, ready to sign.
Where it runs
Running at Marine Electronics
What it costs
$175 an hour, from a written estimate with a cap

How it works, step by step

  1. Pick the parts. Prices come from your suppliers.

  2. Each part is priced for your customer with your own markup.

  3. The estimate and scope of work are generated: branded, clean, the same every time.

  4. The customer signs and pays for the parts on a payment page.

  5. You order the parts, already paid for. The job folder is made for you.

How we did it

This is how marine estimates are made. They come out of the system instead of a blank document, and parts are paid for before they're ordered.

How all of it works

Nothing goes out without you

Replies, estimates, review responses and follow-ups are drafted for a person to check, and you approve them before they go out. Standard replies, like the questions you ask every new customer, you approve once, and then they're sent for you.

  1. Drafted for you
  2. Checked by you
  3. Then sent

Limits

We built this around marine work. For your trade, we'd set it up with your suppliers and your prices.

What it costs

$175 an hour

One rate for all of it.

Estimate
Before any project, you get a written estimate with a not-to-exceed cap. You pay for the hours we actually work, never more than the cap.
If the job changes
If the job changes, we write a new estimate before doing more.
First meeting at your business
An on-site consultation is billed by the hour. If we go ahead, that time comes off the job.
First call by phone or video
Tell us on the form if a phone or video call is enough to start. We'll look at what you sent and tell you before we talk whether there's any charge.
A closer look
If we need a closer look at how the business runs, that's billed by the hour too, like everything else.
Travel
On-site travel: the first 30 minutes each way are on us, then $40 per half hour.
Contract
No long-term contract or retainer. You sign each written estimate before we start.

Tell us what's going on.

A few lines about your business and what's eating your time is enough to start. Every request is read by a person, and if something isn't worth doing, we'll tell you.
